ChainDecision is an online, interactive game designed by Rachel Chung, Amy Xia, Nicola Ibba, and Pratyush Sharma to study decision making in supply chain. The game simulates transactions in a small supply chain, where a single player is required to make ordering decisions and regularly inspect the inventory to avoid running our of product.

ChainDecision is specifically designed to simulate the deployment of blockchain in the supply chain’s information systems. While it does not run a real blockchain, the entire game is based on a complex relational database, where transactions and product manufactured and exchanged exists as records.

Game admins can change a number of environmental variables, from demand parameters to the cost of ordering and the weather patterns. The game uses randomization and conditional logic techniques to generate supply chain disruptions that make the game non-linear.
